New stallions from Spain!
Campos Meta is the new Spanish Team led by the ex-Formula One driver Adrian Campos. Apart from the experience as a driver, Campos also has had good success as a Team Manager in junior formulae. The Team is based out of Madrid, Spain and runs a technical centre in Valencia. Meta Image, a Madrid based sports agency also owns a stake in the team. Running on a Cosworth powered motor, this car is set to deliver as required. As of now, only Bruno Senna, nephew to the legend Aryton Senna as been confirmed as one of the drivers.
The other drivers in the running for the seat are Vitaly Petrov from Russia and Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado. Even though Campos Meta is currently running on Cosworth powerplant, it has been reported that the team is looking for Ferrari to step in as engine supplier in 2011. The cars will be built by Dallara, the Italian constructors.
With the surprises that Brawn GP has spurned last year, this year could also be one for the debutants! It wouldn’t be right to judge the capabilities of the machine and the drivers before they are actually thrown into the cauldron called Formula One!
