Interview: This is a tough circuit

Oct 20, 2007 - 10:35 AM

How did your day go?

Pretty well. I did quite a few laps in the wet this morning and I think we found a little extra tweak. Even if qualifying takes place in the rain we’ll be more competitive than in Japan. In the dry the car felt good right away. We still have some work to do on the set-up but I’m optimistic. We should be able to take the fight to the Williams and Red Bulls once again.

What do you think of the circuit?

I like this layout very much and some of the corners are a real challenge. It seems that the bumps have disappeared. The grip’s not great because the surface is new, but it’s going to get better over the weekend.

The gaps are very small at Interlagos. Will this force you to modify your approach to Saturday?

No, it’ll be the same as usual. There’s no room for the slightest mistake in qualifying, and you have to really push to find the ultimate tenth to hope to make it into the top ten.
