Heidfeld eager to race at Turkey
Aug 09, 2005 - 06:24 PM
Nick Heidfeld, the BMW Williams driver, is eager to drive at the new Turkish Grand Prix venue in Istanbul. Nick said that he couldn't wait to drive at the venue.
Nick expressed optimism over adapting the new circuit. According to Heidfeld, there are a number of uphill and downhill sections at the circuit in Turkey. Heidfeld said that all the circuits with a major altitude difference that he has raced until today have yielded good results for him. The circuit at Turkey has been described as a mini-Spa for Heidfeld, which suits his style.
Nick Heidfield, currently in 9th position, earned two podium-finishes this year.
But as regards learning new tracks without prior testing, the German driver resembles others. Nick many-a-times encounters difficulties when he has to learn new circuits without prior testing. He said, "I bought the PlayStation game, but prior to the race I'll also prepare in our simulator at the Williams factory."
Nick believes that the possibilities of preparing for a race stand restricted, when the data is inadequate.
