Alonso makes pace while the sun shines

Aug 29, 2005 - 06:34 PM

Renault-ace, Fernando Alonso, clocked 1minute 20.413seconds---the best time recorded on the 3rd day of the Monza test on Friday.

OWhich means--- (you would feel)---he raced past the McLarens that had clocked faster in the earlier 2 tests in Monza! But its bad news for the Renault fans anyways---The McLarens were not around on Friday! Yet indeed! The Renault team should be satisfied with their testing performance, as both Renault cars were quicker than the rest. Giancarlo Fisichella, who encountered electrical problems in the morning session, timed 1minute 21.192 seconds in his Renault.

Jarno Trulli was 3rd fastest in his Toyota, whereas Michael Schumacher's Ferrari regained its form after a slump in performance at the Italian Grand Prix last weekend. Schumi clocked fourth quickest at 1minute 21.468seconds. Takuma Sato was 5th fastest in his BAR-Honda, whereas David Coulthard clocked 6th fastest for Red Bull Racing. Nick Heidfeld set the 7th fastest time for the Williams team, whereas young and energetic Anthony Davidson (test driver of the BAR team) was 8th fastest.
