Alguesuari had to give up P11 and is starting from the pitlane.

Five lights Illuminate...
It's an awesome start for the front runners. Vettel and Alonso are wheel to wheel as they approach the first corner but Alonso manages to hold on to the race lead.

The top ten drivers are Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Webber, Rosberg, Kubica, Barrichello, Schumacher and Petrov as they come out of the first corner.

Massa dives into the pits. He shifts from the option tyres into the hard tyres.

Heidfeld's having a bad day. After being forced to pit, the crew drops the jack before the tyres are put in and that cost him even more time.

Lap 2
Liuzzi is out of the race after busting his rear suspension. He manages to park the car on the side of the track. The safety car is deployed in order to retrieve the car and a pack of cars, led by Mark Webber, hit the pits making good use of the opportunity After the pit frenzy, it's Alonso still leading the pack with Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Rosberg, Kubica, Barrichello, Schumacher, Kobayashi and Webber finishing the top ten.

Lap 10
Sutil is stuck behind Glock's Virgin. It's amazing how the much slower Virgin can hold back Force India like this. Meanwhile, Alonso is blazing through the track and set the fastest lap at 1:52.625

Lap 14
Webber's gamble of pitting when the safety car came out might flop. He is already 22.6 seconds behind race leader Fernando Alonso. Meanwhile his team mate set the fastest lap at 1:52.023. Vettel reassures his team via radio that he isn't pushing his car. If so, that's bad news for the Ferrari fans.

Sutil finally manages to overtake Glock and is at P11 and 13 seconds behind Kobayashi.

Lap 16
Hulkenberg pulls off a messy overtaking manoeuvre to get past Glock. Massa gains a place in the process.

Lap 21
3.1 seconds separate Vettel and race leader Alonso. Webber may not be able to win the race but a podium finish is still possible with Hamilton 20 seconds ahead of Webber.

Lap 30
Vettel is closing in on Alonso. A mere 1.8 seconds separate the two drivers.

All the frontrunners dive into the pits. Hamilton rejoins the race at 8th right behind Webber. Alonso and Vettel are in and out, retaining their positions. Button who for a brief moment had the race lead rejoins the race at 8th behind teammate Hamilton. Sutil is flying through the corners and has reduced the gap between him and Kobayashi down to 8 seconds.

Trulli is having problems with the car's hydraulics but his crew is on it trying to fix the problem and should be back in the race soon.

Lap 32
Kobayashi makes a mistake and crashes into the barriers. Senna blunders and crashes into the Sauber. The Safety car's out to retrieve both cars.

It's Alonso still leading the race. Behind him are the Red Bulls of Vettel and Webber with the McLarens chasing closely. Behind them are Rosberg, Kubica, Barrichello, Sutil and Hulkenberg.

Lap 38
Hamilton and Webber are wheel to wheel and an intense battle for third is brewing. Hamilton overtakes but it's a corner up ahead. Webber's got the inside line and Hamilton struggles to hold on to position. It's the apex of the corner and Hamilton hasn't left much room for Webber. The Red Bull's right front tyre makes contact with the McLaren's rear left tyre. Hamilton is pushed out of the way and Webber gets ahead .Hamilton seems to be in trouble. His rear suspension is busted and he's out of the race. He emerges out of the car fuming mad. He flings his steering and curses into the air. The stewards are definitely going to look into the incident.

Lap 40
Nick Heidfeld's day just went from bad to worse. Schumi being his aggressive self makes contact with the Sauber while overtaking. Heidfeld spins out and his car hugs the barriers. Schumacher's front wing is damaged and is scraping the track. The Mercedes limps through the track showering the track with sparks from the titanium skin of the wing

Lap 47
With the rules restricting a race to 2 hours, we may see a shorter Singapore GP than expected.

Alonso's still the race leader with Vettel right behind him. Webber, Button, Rosberg, Barrichello, Sutil, Hulkenberg, Massa and Petrov finish the top ten.

Lap 52
Kubica on a new set of tyres are flying through the lap and is on an overtaking spree. He has no trouble overtaking the Ferrari of Massa. Massa's worn-out tyres are to blame.

Lap 60
Kovalainen makes contact with Sebastian Buemi's Toro Rosso. It's a minor brushing but damage is visible. The contact sent debris flying all over the track. Kovalainen's car is on fire and he brings the car to a halt on the side of the track. He plays fire fighter and uses a small fire extinguisher to put out the flames.

Final Lap
Alonso, who led the race from the start, takes the chequered flag and the second win in a row. A second behind him is Vettel who couldn't manage to get past the Ferrari. Webber takes the final podium postion. Button comes in 4th. The better of the two Mercedes, Rosberg comes in 5th followed by Barrichello. Kubica comes in 7th and the only Force India on track, Adrian Sutil comes in 8th. Hulkenberg comes in 9th and Massa takes the final point scoring postion.

See you guys in two weeks in Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix.
